Accessibility statement
Last updated · Target and self-testing · no formal audit or certification
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is a target. We have tested many criteria ourselves but have not had a formal external audit, and we do not claim certification.
What we have built in
- Semantic HTML with one main heading per page, logical heading order and landmark regions.
- A "skip to main content" link and visible keyboard focus.
- Keyboard-operable menus, dialogs and tools, with focus moved to new content in step-by-step tools.
- Text contrast designed to meet AA ratios; text resizes without loss of content.
- Touch targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels for most controls.
- Respect for "reduce motion" settings: animations are removed or simplified, and all content remains available.
- Text alternatives for the garden illustration, including a written summary of what is growing.
- Right-to-left layout support for Arabic, without artificial letter spacing or broken letter joining.
- Editorial pages remain readable without JavaScript.
Known limitations
- The decorative homepage animations are visual only; they are not needed to understand any content.
- Some linked external services (such as crisis lines and directories) are outside our control.
- Automatic translations offered through Google Translate are not reviewed.
