Medical review policy
Last updated · Planned policy · no clinical reviews completed yet
Current status
No guide on this site has been medically reviewed yet. Guides display "Not yet medically reviewed" until a real, documented review has been completed for that exact version.
Who can review
Clinical reviewers must be qualified, licensed professionals relevant to the topic (for example, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, or perinatal mental health specialists for postpartum content). Before a reviewer's name appears on the site, we will verify their license through the relevant public licensing board and record the verification date.
What reviewers check
- Medical accuracy against current evidence and guidelines, including country differences.
- Safety: crisis messaging, warning signs, and avoidance of individual treatment advice.
- Balance: benefits and limits of treatments; no overstated claims.
- Language: non-stigmatizing, inclusive and clear.
- Interactive content: Find My Next Step text, support message examples, and every Small Steps Garden activity and smaller-step variant.
How reviews are recorded
Each review is stored with the content ID, a fingerprint (hash) of the reviewed text, the reviewer's name and role, the date and the decision. The site will only show "Medically reviewed by…" when that record exists and matches the current text.
Re-review
- Material medical changes require a new review of the changed version.
- Guides are scheduled for re-review at least every 12 months, or sooner when evidence or guidance changes.
Limits
Even reviewed content is general information. It cannot account for any individual's situation and is not a substitute for professional care.
